Gary Prosterman has founded successful enterprises in real estate and healthcare. Prosterman graduated cum laude from the University of Tennessee in 1980 and was selected to Omicron Delta Kappa (national leadership society). He also completed the Comparative Study on Political and Economic Systems at Georgetown University while serving as an intern for Senator Howard Baker.
In 1987, Prosterman founded two businesses, Development Services Group, Inc. and Ambulatory Management Services, Inc. (AMS), a company that developed and managed outpatient surgery centers. Prosterman created the vision for both of these companies and led their growth from start-up. In 1995, AMS was chosen as a regional finalist for the Ernst and Young “Business of the Year.” AMS was acquired by Symbion, a publicly traded healthcare company based in Nashville, Tennessee in 1998.
Prosterman has remained as CEO and President of Development Services Group (DSG), since its inception in 1987. Prosterman has received numerous business honors including, “Who’s Who Among Outstanding Business Executives.” and “Top Forty Under 40”. He serves on the board of directors for: the University of Tennessee’s Retail and Hospitality Department, United Cerebral Palsy of the Mid South, St. Mary’s Episcopal School and Intellectual Property Management, LLC.
Dan has been a member of the DSG team since 1995 and has proven his ability to efficiently orchestrate the administrative responsibilities and personnel that are essential for a project to continually move forward. He also coordinates the financial aspects, ensuring that payment schedules match those outlined in the contract and that the project is progressing according to budget.
His attention to detail and communication with all parties of the project team virtually ensure that the specifics of the project are addressed and that the project never loses momentum.
Dan graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 1988 with a B.A. and earned an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1990.
K. Paul West - Director of Operations
Upon completion of college at Eastern Kentucky University, Paul spent fifteen years “in the trenches” as a general manager for various hotels with most of his experience as a general manager for a Hilton Hotel. He then spent ten years as a Regional Manager for RFS Hotel Investors with responsibility for 23 properties.
Paul has deep experience in all phases of hotel operations, sales and marketing, high volume nightclubs, and food and beverage operations. He is experienced in takeovers, new openings, and brand repositioning. At Maximum Hospitality, Paul uses his extensive experience in hotel management to oversee and support the property staffs. Paul’s expertise in hotel day to day operations and his ability to focus a staff's efforts toward profitability ensure that an Owner and property staff have ample resources to maximize property performance.
Mary Garner - Director of Accounting
Mary earned a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Christian Brothers University and an MS in Accounting from the University of Memphis. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Tennessee.
Mary has over 16 years of experience in the field of accounting. Mary began her career in Corporate Accounting with International Paper Company, later gaining experience in both Domestic and International Accounting at FedEx Corporation. Mary has spent the last seven years in the hotel industry. Before joining us in 2005, she was a Finance Manager for Hilton Hotels.
Michael Goforth - Vice President of Construction
Michael has over twenty years experience in hospitality design and construction. He formerly worked for Promus Hotels (Hilton Hotel Corporation) for twelve years and Equity Inns REIT for three years. He has been involved with over 150 hotel projects and over 100 restaurants and is a fully licensed General Contractor. After working though the entitlement process, Michael is responsible for the design and construction phases of each project paying special attention to both the schedule and the budget. His attention to detail and his expertise in problem solving ensures the project moves forward avoiding costly delays.
