Meet DSG

About Us

Development Services Group is an established developer and operator of commercial real estate assets across the United States.
From the start of investment to project management and development, DSG has a robust portfolio of hospitality, commercial building and multifamily properties aimed to rebuild and revive urban communities. With projects totaling more than $1 billion in assets and a history spanning across three decades, the group has earned its place as a trusted partner and leader in real estate development.

Our seasoned experts understand the nuances and complexities of real estate cycles for supply and demand and pricing. We cultivate a sophisticated view of socioeconomic trends and capital flows while maintaining a local investment discipline, allowing us to generate targeted returns on real estate investments. Our strategic, process-driven approach enables us to successfully serve financial institutions, institutional asset owners and franchisors.

DSG’s core strategy is to produce above-average returns with moderate- and low-risk volatility. We develop and operate assets through stabilization and then sell the stabilized assets to institutional investors, such as real estate investment trusts or real estate funds.

Our Team

Gary Prosterman

President and CEO

Over the course of more than 30 years, Gary has founded, led and grown successful enterprises in commercial real estate and health care. He has aligned his passion for enhancing the quality of life and opportunity in Memphis, Tennessee, and beyond with his endeavors in business, civic, educational and charitable work. Gary’s entrepreneurial drive and leadership are what built Development Services Group into a nationally recognized commercial real estate group with more than $1 billion in assets across the United States.

In addition to founding DSG, Gary founded Ambulatory Management Services in 1987, which was later acquired by Symbion Inc. His equal success in real estate and health care led to several business honors throughout his career.

Gary is the chairman and a board member of Hapten Sciences in Memphis. He has served in board leadership roles for West Tennessee Family Solutions, St. Mary’s Episcopal School and the Housing Foundation of West Tennessee, for which he represented the U.S. Department of Justice to oversee residential housing for mentally handicapped adults in Tennessee. He also served on the board of the College of Consumer Services at his alma mater, University of Tennessee.

After graduating from Auburn University in 2010 with a degree in civil engineering, Ethan began his career as a civil designer for Memphis-based architecture and engineering firm A2H, where he specialized in project management, transportation analysis and bridge design.
